Transgender Oral History Project

This project was started by Martin Rawlings-Fein as a way to put a face on the transgender movement. By interviewing trans people in California, a portrait of the many communities that make up the transgender umbrella began to appear. These communities are distinct and diverse with their own tacit understanding of identity that transcends the word transgender. A small sampling of the larger interviews is available on DVD through www.createspace.com. If you are interested in starting a similar project in another city or state please contact Martin at your convenience for more information.
